About the Author

Poems on relationship, intimacy, and longing, the poetics of postcards, and places real and imagined.

Description

This book of prose poems is a collection of collaged visual images—some randomly recollected—others noted as the author apprehended them. Woven through the visual images are descriptions of sensation/perception that arise with the memory of place.

The collection has three parts: 'Together/Apart' is specifically a subjective excavation of relationships, 'Postcards' speaks to a lifelong attachment to correspondence and its directness, and 'Place' is about situations/places that the author has invented or re-imagined.

Steve Clorfeine is a writer, performer, director, and coach with a long association to the Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and the State University of New York. As an independent workshop leader, he presents training programs for teachers, performers, business leaders, and at meditation centers throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. His other books include Field Road Sky and While I was Dancing: 22 Poems. Steve lives with his wife in Kingston, New York, and in New York City.
