Description
With echoes of Whitman and the Upanishads, Song of Myself explores the question of what the self is and how the development of the self is influenced by the conditions of contemporary life. Using various forms, the other poems in the collection explore man in relation—and out of relation—with nature and the possibilities of a projected afterlife.
Frederick Bauman is the author of two books of poetry previously published by Codhill Press: Feral Idylls and Enneagrammatic Improvisations. He is also the author of Periwinkle, a semi-autobiographical novel of the sixties. He is currently working on a new collection of poems called Lyrical Inquiries. He is married and lives in the Catskill region of New York State.
