Thank you for your interest in publishing a foreign translation or English language edition of a SUNY Press book. Please mail or fax your query. You may send your request via e-mail, but please note that is not guaranteed to be expedited. Please make certain to specify if you are interested in publishing a foreign translation or an English language foreign reprint.
Due to the large number of rights and permissions requests we receive on a daily basis, please allow up to 10 weeks to process an agreement. This amount of time would include the preliminary 3-5 weeks that may be needed to conduct a complete rights evaluation.
Should the rights be available for a particular title, we will be happy to send you a reading
copy of the book if you do not already have one. You will be granted a three-month option in
order to review the book.
If you wish to proceed with an offer and expedite this process, please
provide the following information:
• Complete SUNY Press author and title information
• Indicate whether you wish to publish a foreign edition or translation
• Complete publisher's name and mailing address (please be case specific)
• Anticipated date of publication
• Binding (hardcover, softcover, or both)
• Anticipated list price (stated in both foreign currency and U.S. dollars is helpful)
• Media formats requested (print, electronic, etc.)
• Print run
• Sales territories requested • Amount of net advance payment (taxes are not be deducted from this amount)
• Royalty structure • Any applicable withholding taxes for royalty payments
