Award winning … internationally recognized ... innovative and transformative…
Since its founding in 1966, SUNY Press has grown from a small press with fewer than 15 new titles each year to one of the largest public university presses in the United States, with an annual output of over 170 new titles available in print and electronic formats, an active backlist of nearly 5,000 titles, a growing trade list, Excelsior Editions, and an emerging journals program.
Like most university presses, SUNY Press is a nonprofit organization. We are liberated by a mission that is built around books that matter rather than books that make money. But we face significant challenges: the printed book has become increasingly complicated by new forms of communication and advances in digital technology; important and significant research that is critically necessary to scholarly discourse is costly to produce and disseminate. By contributing to the Press, you will help us maintain our standard of publishing excellence and further the causes of education, culture, and intellectual inquiry embodied in the publications we make available to the world. Your support will help ensure the Press’s continued vitality.
